Litter tracking happens when granules stick to your cat's paws and fall off as they walk away from the box. A few small changes make a big difference.
1. Place a trapping mat at the exit
A honeycomb mat in front of the litter box catches granules as your cat steps out. Look for one large enough that your cat takes two or three steps on it. Our Litter Trapping Mat is designed for exactly this.
2. Choose a lower-dust, larger-granule litter
Fine litter sticks to paws more easily. Larger granules tend to fall off before your cat leaves the mat.
3. Keep the box at the right fill level
Two to three inches is usually enough. Overfilled boxes encourage kicking and scatter.
4. Empty the mat regularly
Lift and pour trapped litter back into the box every day or two so the mat keeps working.
